The National Testing Agency has conducted IGNOU Assistant Registrar exam on January 24, 2021 and will announce its result online. The IGNOU Assistant Registrar result 2021 is expected to be announced in February month. The Assistant Registrar result will be prepared on the basis of cut off marks and a merit list will be released containing the names of candidates shortlisted for next round in the selection phase i.e., interview. January 28, 2021 Update
- NTA released the provisional answer key on January 28 and invited objections. No official mention of the result date of IGNOU assistant registrar exam.
- A total of 29,667 appeared for the exam against mere 22 posts, so the competition is tough and cut-off is expected high.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) is conducting this examination for recruitment on 21 posts of Assistant Registrar (AR) and 1 post of Security Officer in the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU). The online application process took place in December 2020 and admit cards were issued on January 11, 2021.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) will be publishing the IGNOU Assistant Registrar Result 2021 on its official website only through online mode. In its detailed advertisement, NTA has not mentioned the exact result date but the candidates can expect the result sometime in February. Latest notices regarding the Assistant Registrar exam can be checked only at official site recruitment.nta.nic.in.
The Assistant Registrar result will be published in two ways; 1) the individual marks/score of the candidates obtained in the written test and 2) merit list of shortlisted candidates. The merit list is prepared on the basis of candidates’ performance in the written test and also considering the reservation/quota rules.
As per official notification, maximum of 15 candidates against 1 post will be called for interview on the basis of performance in the written test. Since there are 21 Assistant Registrar posts, around 315 candidates will be placed in the merit list and called for the interviews.
In the interview sessions, a candidate’s suitability for the post is probed through academic qualifications, experience, extra-curricular activities, general awareness, communication, problem solving skills and overall personality etc. among other things.

- Go to official NTA IGNOU recruitment website “recruitment.nta.nic.in“
- Check for the notice titled “Result/merit list of Assistant Registrar written test held on Jan 24, 2021”
- The merit list PDF will open and candidates can search for their name/roll number/registration ID to check their status.
- Individual scores can be checked after login at the website. Candidates will need to enter their login details such as registration ID etc to view the marks.
IGNOU Assistant Registrar Cut Off Marks
The IGNOU Assistant Registrar cut off marks is decided by few factors such as number of candidates who wrote the test, total vacancies and difficulty level of the paper leading to average score of the candidates. Since this is for the first time that IGNOU Assistant Registrar recruitment is being done for relatively large number of vacancies, there’s no previous years’ data to draw comparison from.
